Healthcare companies and institutes of further education in the medical sector as well as the University Lyon 1 School of Medicine have found their homes here. Alongside 7 private and public hospitals, it is home to several clinics and about 50 doctors surgeries. With 80,000 inhabitants, the neighbourhood, also known as the "Health Quarter" is the second most densely populated area within Lyon.
